This series of paintings are inspired by the history of the Mexican sarape, a historical garment that traces colonial history through changes in design, material and the use in society.  Relying on repetition and symmetry I paint stripes using bingo markers, acrylic and transparent mediums that bow upward and outward forming crown-like structures that sit center in the composition.
