The project titled “43” is composed of 43 plaster slabs each measuring 18 x 24 x 1 inch. The process to generate the image on the slab is a monoprinting technique that uses an etched copper plate,  inked with additional  painterly marks and then submerged in wet plaster within a shallow frame. The density of the image corresponds to the amount of time the plaster is left on the plate, times range from one hour to 24 hours. The longer the time the more black and detailed the image. This project was made in reaction to the mass kidnapping of 43 students in Iguala Mexico in 2014.  43, plaster prints, 18x 24 (43), 2014
